Sportswear اور outdoor apparel کے لیے recycled polyester virgin polyester جیسے wicking اور strength profiles دے سکتا ہے جبکہ fossil-fuel dependency کم کرے۔ تاہم recycled yarns کی intrinsic viscosity مختلف ہو سکتی ہے—pre-production lot sorting نہ ہو تو dyeing streakiness اور کم stretch recovery۔ Bulk consistency کے لیے recycled-content verification کے ساتھ physical-performance testing بھی چیک ہونا چاہیے۔

Traceability اور Certification Frameworks: GRS بمقابلہ RCS

Consumer-facing recycled claim کے لیے brand کو ثابت کرنا چاہیے کہ supply chain کی ہر entity—bottle collector اور chip extruder سے yarn spinner، knitter، dyehouse اور garment manufacturer تک—certified ہے۔ Textile Exchange کے دو بنیادی standards یہ ہیں:

1. Recycled Claim Standard (RCS): RCS حتمی product میں recycled material کی موجودگی اور مقدار تصدیق کرتا ہے (کم از کم 5% recycled content)۔ یہ سختی سے chain-of-custody documentation اور material flow پر مرکوز ہے—source سے finished goods تک recycled input ٹریک کرتا ہے۔ بنیادی recycled content claims کے لیے مفید ہے مگر social یا environmental processing standards نہیں جانچتا۔

2. Compliance verification کے لیے دو documents مرکزی ہیں۔ Scope Certificate (SC) ثابت کرتا ہے کہ مخصوص facility audit ہو چکی ہے اور GRS/RCS materials process کر سکتی ہے۔ Transaction Certificate (TC) traceability دیتا ہے؛ authorized certification body جیسے Control Union ہر shipment کے لیے جاری کرتا ہے اور مخصوص GRS yarn lot کو مخصوص finished fabric batch سے جوڑتا ہے۔ ہر bulk dye lot کے لیے GRS Transaction Certificate چاہیے تاکہ GRS/RCS document chain نہ ٹوٹے۔

PET کی Mechanical بمقابلہ Chemical Recycling

Recycled polyester yarn کے دو بنیادی manufacturing methods fabric performance اور cost دونوں متاثر کرتے ہیں:

1. Mechanical Recycling (Post-Consumer Bottle Flakes): سب سے عام اور cost-effective method۔ Post-consumer PET beverage bottles collect، wash، flakes میں shred، melt اور براہِ راست polyester chips میں extrude ہوتی ہیں، پھر yarn میں spin۔ تاہم ہر mechanical melting cycle thermal degradation لاتی ہے جو polymer کا molecular weight اور intrinsic viscosity (IV) کم کرتی ہے۔ کم IV yarn کو کمزور بناتا ہے، pilling زیادہ (fiber breakage)، اور heat setting کے لیے حساس—blended stretch fabrics میں spandex recovery متاثر ہو سکتی ہے۔

2. Chemical Recycling (Depolymerization): یہ method post-consumer textile waste اور PET bottles کو monomers جیسے dimethyl terephthalate یا bis-hydroxyethyl terephthalate تک depolymerize کرتی ہے۔

Monomers purify ہو کر polyester chips میں repolymerize ہوتے ہیں۔ نتیجے میں recycled yarn chemical طور پر virgin polyester کے قریب ہو سکتی ہے، اور mechanical recycling سے بہتر intrinsic viscosity retention رکھتی ہے۔

Chemically recycled polyester premium activewear کے لیے بہتر color uniformity، tensile strength اور pilling resistance دے سکتا ہے، مگر عام طور پر نمایاں cost premium رکھتا ہے۔

rPET Fabrics کے Quality Control مسائل

Recycled polyester yarn dyehouse میں virgin polyester سے مختلف رویہ رکھتی ہے۔ Mechanical rPET fabrics کو تین بنیادی quality-control challenges پر توجہ درکار ہے:

1. Dye Uptake اور Color Consistency: Mechanical rPET chips اکثر trace impurities رکھتے ہیں (جیسے residual bottle caps، labels یا polyvinyl chloride)۔ یہ impurities spun yarn کی crystalline structure بدل دیتی ہیں اور disperse dye absorption میں فرق لاتی ہیں۔ Pressure dyeing میں color patches، dye lots کے درمیان shade variation، یا horizontal streakiness (barre) ہو سکتی ہے۔ Dyehouse کو low-speed، high-penetration disperse dyes استعمال کرنے چاہییں اور GRS yarns کی thorough lot-segregation تاکہ ایک ہی knit structure میں مختلف yarn batches نہ مل جائیں۔

3. Spandex Compatibility: Recycled polyester-spandex blends میں mechanically recycled polyester کی کم thermal stability کی وجہ سے کم heat-setting temperatures درکار ہو سکتے ہیں—width اور shrinkage control زیادہ حساس ہو جاتا ہے۔ Dimensions stabilize کرنے اور spandex elasticity نہ بگاڑنے کے لیے stenter parameters optimize ہونے چاہییں۔

Bulk approval سے پہلے درج ذیل documents اور specifications مکمل ہونے چاہییں:

Recycled content certification کے لیے Global Recycled Standard (GRS) guidelines دیکھیں اور Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) protocols کے تحت material flow چیک کریں۔
